Goverment Kiosk
KIOSK has literally hundreds of government client references, each with outstanding examples of self-service cost cutting measures.
Shrinking federal, state, and local budgets have forced many government offices to develop automation solutions with measurable and long-term ROI. Further, niche solutions turn up monthly from innovative OEMs selling into specialized government branches. Scroll over for a host of self-service examples from KIOSK Government clients.
Department of Motor Vehicles Kiosk
The states of Nevada, Maryland, Washington, and Utah have utilized KIOSK solutions to automate high demand functions such as vehicle registration / license renewal and drivers license testing.
DMV self-service benefits are obvious - shorter lines (transactions in about two minutes), better patron service, and significantly reduced DMV staffing costs – ultimately keeping state tax rates lower.
Department of Corrections Kiosk
The State of Missouri, J-Pay, and Securus have developed a range of KIOSK solutions to efficiently manage prison bank accounts, commissary purchases - even requests for medicines and medical attention.
Rod Kueffer, Missouri State Department of Corrections
J-Pay, who serves a number of state corrections facilities, has also deployed lobby kiosks that enable friends and family to add deposits to an inmate’s account. In 2009, J-Pay added functionality for approved visitors to send letters and pay inmates visits online from their home, connected to the inmate through a kiosk with a video camera and phone.
Another Corrections Market KIOSK client, Sentinel Offender Services, has deployed kiosks for probationers to perform monthly parole check-in (biometric identity verification), pay court fines, fees, and victim restitution. State and private sector inmate kiosk applications provide lasting budget relief, reducing funding demand for case workers and corrections institution employees.
University Kiosk
KIOSK clients in the education market range from large universities like Princeton, Vanderbilt, and University of Michigan to a host of private and community colleges. Universities everywhere are realizing the cost savings benefits of kiosks for automated registration, financial aid information, course catalogs, directories, way finding, academic & athletic event calendars, student ID validation, and more.
University clients have great opportunities for layering web-based applications, which can significantly relieve staffing budgets and assist with campus flow during spiked demand cycles (registration, parent weekends, athletic events, etc.).
Travel & Tourism Kiosk
City Transit Departments such as the Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) and Las Vegas Monorail have included the self-service kiosk as an integral part of their passenger flow strategy for years.
Automating schedule and route information, as well as ticket / token distribution can significantly reduce transaction and staffing costs.
Additional applications include information and ticketing kiosks for city / state tourist attractions and conservation efforts.
City & Municipal Utility Bill Payment Kiosk
KIOSK has worked with multiple city / municipal offices for self-service utility bill payment applications. Clients such as City of Tacoma prefer to handle their application directly, however KIOSK has served thousands of offices indirectly as the OEM manufacturer for TIO networks, a leader in bill payment for the cash preferred and under-banked segment of the population (accounts for 40 million US residents).
